6x binoculars, made by Obukhov in 1915 for the Russian Imperial Navy.
In fact, on the left plate there is the acceptance mark of the Imperial Navy as well as the marks relating to the production yard Obukhov or "Обуховский бинокль".
On the right ocular plate also, in addition to the 6x magnification, there is written "призматический бинокль" or "Prism binoculars".
On the left objective lens support there is the anchor of the Russian Imperial Navy while on the right lens support there is engraved "A.A. Платонов" or A.A. Platonov, probably the name of the military owner.

Obukhov Plant:

On September 28, 1904, the head of the Obukhov plant, G.A. Vlastiev, submitted a memorandum to the board of directors of the plant on the need to create an optics laboratory. The proposal was accepted the same day.

On September 30, 1905 the management of the plant announced the completion of work on the creation of an optical workshop. All specialists: opticians and masters were foreigners.

In 1906 the workshop accepted an order for the production of "prismatic" binoculars.

In 1908, the optics department was headed by Professor A.L. Gershun, "the only person", according to academician A.N. Krylov, "who at that time in Russia could help the optical business get back on its feet ...". Gershun began working in a team of foreigners, but did his best to make the backbone of the workshop only Russians (at the time of his departure, only 6% of the employees were foreigners).

The quality of the binoculars produced reached a high level, many considered them better than the German ones.
