Doppelfernrohr 15x60 GA T* produced by Carl Zeiss and still today universally considered one of the best binoculars ever made.
The binoculars are equipped with a Porro prism system, the body is made of aluminum covered with a thick anti-corrosion rubber. The focusing takes place by means of the rotation of the central rotor, equipped with a graduated scale, which moves the 2 eyepieces in parallel, favoring a forward and backward movement, and by means of the right eyepiece which, with precise and soft movements of the precise focus rotor, allows diopter compensation for perfect focus.
This focusing system, in conjunction with superior quality lenses, allows a minimum focus starting from 15 meters with the maximum depth of field which is perceived starting, on average, from 200 meters towards infinity.
Furthermore, Zeiss guarantees the perfect functioning of the focusing system at temperatures between -20° and +50°: this is possible thanks to a specific lubricating grease used on this exceptional model.
One of the many features that make these binoculars extremely performing and useful for many uses are the 60mm eyepieces which allow medium-long range naturalistic observations, even in poor light conditions, as well as astronomical observations.
The objective lenses of this 15x60 GA T* model are equipped with the well-known Zeiss + T Multi-Coating Treatment which, combined with formidable crystals, almost completely eliminates achromatic aberration and provides the observer with a light transmission of over 90%.
It comes complete with its original carrying case (probably specially commissioned from Zeiss) and is in excellent condition. The view is perfect as are the mechanisms that work very precisely.
