Ivory Binoculars "Fabbre Opticien Turin&Florenze", belonged to Tommaso di Savoia Genova, circa 1875

Antique Galilean binoculars, produced by “Fabre Opticien Turin & Florence” around 1875, which belonged to Tommaso di Savoia Genova, who was the consort of Isabella of Bavaria (granddaughter of King Ludwig I of Bavaria), Admiral, Lieutenant General of the Kingdom of Italy from 1915 to 1919 as well as member (office of H.R.H.) of the House of Savoy, brother of Margherita of Savoy, future Queen of Italy. The binoculars bear, like the case, the royal monogram or so-called numbers of "Tommaso di Savoia-Genova" and its structure appears to be completely made of ivory, just as all those threaded parts used for assembly and operation are made of ivory. The binoculars are in excellent aesthetic and functional condition: the lenses are very clear and the view is excellent.

It is assumed that its magnifications can vary between 5x and 8x.

The creation of these binoculars, very expensive at the time, was probably commissioned or entirely aimed at the pleasure of possession by wealthy people: confirming this hypothesis is the fact that these binoculars are produced by a company with offices precisely in Turin, or rather where the Savoys and their sumptuous residences were permanently located, and Florence, the city which was the capital of the Kingdom of Italy for a short period of six years, from 3 February 1865 to 3 February 1871 and where, therefore, the political, economic and military affairs in which the members of the Royal House were involved operated stably.

There is its original leather case, covered in velvet, bearing the manufacturer's logo (internally), as well as the gold monogram of Tommaso di Savoia Genova (externally).
