Feldtelefon or Austrian field telephone mod. 09, produced by "vTuTf" - Czeija, Nissl & Co., Vereinigte Telephon und Telegraphenfabriks Aktien - Gesell Schaft, dated 1916. Note the very rare metal whistle, used to communicate the incoming call to the duty officer. Telephone equipment supplied to the Austrian Army used throughout the First World War. Complete.


The company Czeija, Nissl & Co. was founded in 1884 in Vienna, and had its headquarters at Zieglergasse 27. In 1907 it moved to Vienna XX., Dresdner Str. 75a. With the outbreak of the First World War, the production of telephone and telegraph equipment for the Austrian Army began. In 1923 the company established the first Austrian radio station. In 1933 Otag merged with formerly J. Berliner. In 1931-1932 and 1936-1938 no radios were produced. Since 1939 C.N. is working closely with Lorenz AG. After 1945, radio production resumed but ceased in 1954. The company currently focuses on the telephone industry.
