Signalgerät 4/10 P40 "eao" (Pintsch) Deck Mounted, for 7x50H-8x60H, Kriegsmarine, 1940

Richtblinker-Signalgerät (Signaler) model 4/10 P40, produced by the "eao" code name of the Pintsch company, to be installed on the decks of Kriegsmarine ships, circa 1940. This instrument was designed to be able to communicate a message in Morse code, using the newly developed infrared technology, a "coded" light transmission, invisible to the human eye.

Furthermore, there is a "Blau - Weiß" selector which allows you to activate two different light transmission modes visible to the human eye. To generate the Morse message it is necessary to activate the trigger, located near the handle, and it activates an internal double curtain diaphragm.

Located on the base of the signal, there is a selector/potentiometer (0, 1, 2, 3) which modifies the intensity of the signal light. Above the beacon it was possible to install the two relative supports for the installation of Carl Zeiss 7x50H and 8x60H binoculars.

This instrument made it possible to communicate any type of message without it being intercepted by the enemy. Relic relating to the history of German signaling used during the Second World War.
