Clock Royal Italian Navy, Royal Maritime Arsenal - La Spezia (Italy), circa 1940

On-Board Clock, produced by E. Boselli of Milan, specifically designed to be installed on board a submarine of the Royal Italian Navy. On the back are the marks of the Royal Military Maritime Arsenal of La Spezia, the client who would later install this clock inside ships or submarines.

The clock, made entirely of "Marine Bronze", shows on the dial the assignment and acceptance marks of the Royal Italian Navy.

The dial is painted black and shows typical characteristics which are influenced by the "futurist" artistic movement. In fact the numbers, with the exception of the Roman ones marking XII, III, VI and IX, are replaced by uncommon triangles which, together with the black dial, fully match the design of the time.

Inside ships and submarines, clocks were installed in every department: from the Officers' Quarters, to the engine room, radio room etc.

Perfectly functional.
